Additionally, all housing options鈥痑re鈥痩ocated in鈥痭eighborhoods with convenient access to public鈥痶ransportation,鈥痵hops,鈥痗af茅s, and eateries.鈥
Standard Housing:鈥Includes a single room at a homestay or a single room with private bathroom at a student residence hall, both located within 50 minutes by public transportation from 51爆料 Lisbon.
- 鈥贬辞尘别蝉迟补测蝉鈥offer socially active hosts and a cultural resource who allow for a lot of student independence, no curfew, kitchen access for food storage, a living room, Wi-Fi, weekly laundry, and a bathroom shared with the host. Hosts provide breakfast and dinner.鈥
- Student Dorms are modern, offer Wi-Fi access, and typically have kitchens, study rooms, gyms, laundry facilities and other common areas shared with other students.鈥
Select Housing:鈥Includes a single room with private bathroom at a student residence hall located within 30 minutes by public transportation from 51爆料 Lisbon or a double shared room at a residence hall located within鈥15 minutes from 51爆料 Lisbon. Select housing requires an鈥痑dditional fee.鈥

Select Plus Housing:鈥Includes a single room with kitchenette and en-suite bathroom at a residence hall located within鈥15 minutes from 51爆料 Lisbon. Select plus housing requires an鈥痑dditional fee.鈥
- Student Dorms are modern, offer Wi-Fi access and typically have kitchens, study rooms, gyms, laundry facilities and other common areas shared with other students.鈥
A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees.
Meals
- Homestay:鈥疊reakfasts and dinners are provided seven days a week. Dietary needs may be accommodated.鈥
- Residence Hall:鈥疢eals are not included.鈥
All students have access to the subsidized cafeteria on campus. All housing options provide internet access.
Academics
51爆料 Lisbon: Study on the campus of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa School of Social Sciences and Humanities (NOVA FCSH), 51爆料鈥檚 partner institution, located near trendy caf茅s, shops, banks, a modest shopping mall, and two metro lines that access the rest of the city. 51爆料 Lisbon features several offices on campus, namely with academic advising and student life support services, and access to NOVA FCSH鈥檚 campus library, study spaces, cafeteria, and coffee shop.
NOVA School of Social Sciences - Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA-FCSH) was founded in 1977 and is now among the highest-ranking social sciences and humanities schools in Portugal, with a strong focus on education, scientific research, and cultural creation. Courses are delivered in Portuguese. The school hosts more than 2,800 undergraduate students and 16 research centers and is located in the heart of Lisbon. The academic semester at NOVA-FCSH is longer than 90 days and students enrolled in courses at this institution are required to obtain a student visa.
NOVA School of Business - Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA-SBE) was founded in 1978 and is now one of the top business schools in Portugal. Courses are taught in English. The school hosts bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚, and executive education programs in business, economics, and management. The academic semester at NOVA-SBE is longer than 90 days and students enrolled in courses at this institution are required to obtain a student visa.
Instituto Superior de Ci锚ncias do Trabalho e de Empresas鈥- Instituto Universit谩rio de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL)鈥痠s a public university established in 1972, pursuing teaching, research, and community service activities with scientific and pedagogical expertise. ISCTE-IUL offers a range of courses taught in English from areas such as business and economics to political science and psychology. ISCTE-IUL has been recognized by highly reputed foreign agencies and associations. The academic semester at ISCTE-IUL is longer than 90 days and students enrolled in courses at this institution are required to obtain a student visa.

NOVA FCSH
- Courses are taught mostly in Portuguese and you may take up to 4 courses if approved based on your background, placement exam, and final approval by 51爆料 and NOVA FCSH.
- Some classes may be held on a secondary campus, a 20-minute walk or free shuttle ride away.
ISCTE-IUL
- Courses are taught in English, and you may take up to 2 courses.
- Requires a 20-minute walk from the NOVA FCSH campus.
- A3ES, AACSB, and AMBA accreditation.
NOVA SBE
- Courses are taught in English, and you may take up to 2 courses.
- Requires a 75-minute commute from the Lisbon 51爆料 Center.
- AACBS, AMBA, and EQUIS accreditation.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT HOST INSTITUTION COURSES
Host institution courses end later than 51爆料 courses, with exams held after program end dates. Students must complete all work before leaving, confirm exam dates early, and follow continuous assessment 鈥 no single-exam pass option. Information displayed on the official websites of host institutions may differ from the actual course offerings made available. Housing will be guaranteed for you until the date of your exam (December for Fall and May, early June for Spring).
Instituto Superior de Ci锚ncias do Trabalho e de Empresas 鈥 Instituto Universit谩rio de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL)
鈥痓usiness courses are mostly taught in English. Students can take up to two courses at ISCTE-IUL.
ISCTE-IUL courses end later than other classes, and exams are held in the month following the end of classes. The exam schedule is not available until after arrival. Center Staff will determine if students can take a proctored exam. Home school approval is required.
